They Thought They Had Found A Muddy Puppy Then Discovered Something Totally Different
At a construction site in Canary Wharf in London, UK, construction workers heard cries from an animal.
The workers immediately knew where the crying came from. At the construction site there were a couple of deep holes open, and they went to look.
To workers surprise, a small helpless animal had fallen into the deep, muddy hole.
The poor animal was covered in dry, hard mud. He was so muddy that they thought they had found a puppy.
For the animal, the possibilities of having managed to get out alone were impossible, but fortunately construction workers pulled him out of the hole. They did not know since when the poor one had stayed in the hole, but they said probably all weekend.
The builders took him to South Essex Wildlife Hospital (SEWH), a rescue and medical care center.
After the staff cleaned and bathed the animal, they finally discovered his true identity, he was actually a fox.
Before, the little fox could not be recognized by the thick layers of dry mud that covered him, but he was absolutely adorable.
The rescue staff fed and took care of him very well, they even named him Muddsey.
It is believed that the fox was wandering through the construction site because it was probably his natural habitat before, where his home was.
“It would certainly have had a pretty awful death if it hadn’t been found, it was very cold and in shock but is fine now,” said Sue Schwar, founder of SEWH.
Fortunately, the case of the little fox did not happen to greater. The rescue was taking care of him and when they made sure that his health was well, they set him free back in the wild.
