KABC reported the 3rd full week of February 2018 was in fact “National Drink Wine With Your Cat Week,” a brand-new fête where it’s not only accepted, but fully encouraged, to curl up with your cat and your favorite merlot. It’s running from Feb. 19 to Feb. 23.

The idea is that National Drink Wine Day (Feb 18) and National Love Your Pet Day (Feb 20th) have been combined to create one massive holiday

Marketers have even developed feline-friendly vintage, which helps distinguish this official celebration from any old working week.

The company called PetWinery, have made a non-alcoholic product that is not only safe for cats, but has health benefits as well. Their ‘CatWine’ ‘Cat-Tini’, and ‘Moeow & Chandon’ Champurrgne are made with filtered water, infused with organic catnip and enriched with salmon oil, which is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids. This helps maintain healthy skin, supports a healthy immune system, fosters a bright and lustrous coat and supports cardiovascular health.

This holiday also poses some unanswered questions: can we drink more wine in the presence of multiple cats? Are we bad pet owners if we drink wine and just open Fluffy a can of tuna? Regardless, this late winter-break presents another opportunity to bond with your favorite feline, while assigning holiday spin to an unspoken tradition we’ve been practicing for years.
