Owners Wanted To Euthanize Their 10-Year-Old Dog To Get A New Puppy
Unfortunately, cases of euthanasia in which the reason is not to avoid the suffering of the animal occur all the time.
There are families that love their pet, but they have to make the difficult decision to practice euthanasia when it is suffering from a terminal illness. But there are also others that could do so for extremely unacceptable reasons…
The owners of this story wanted to euthanize their 10-year-old dog to get a new puppy. But fortunately, the practice was not accepted by the local veterinary office and they asked the couple to surrender the dog.
Munchkin, the 10-year-old Corgi, was in perfect condition, but his owners wanted to replace him.
The former owners of Munchkin agreed to surrender him, then he was left at the local rescue A Home 4 Spot.
In a short time, the story of Munchkin was spread and Michele Padilla decided to adopt him.

Michele is already the mother of another senior dog, but she wanted to give Muchkin a second chance.
“He wants all the love all the time,” Michele said. “He’s just a fun-loving amazing dude. Never without a smile.”
Michele is very happy to be able to share her home in Las Vegas with Munchkin. She hopes that other people will also decide to adopt pets no matter how old they are.
“I’d love for as many people as possible to get out there and adopt those senior dogs. And really give a chance to a senior dog that needs it and could use it and will love you for the rest of their lives.” She said.
You should not sacrifice your dog if it is not suffering, sacrificing an animal should always be the last option. There are other options and measures for owners who can no longer take care of their pets such as taking them to a shelter or non-profit association for help.
