Shelter Dog Becomes Next Disney Star
This is Monte, the shelter dog that becomes the next Disney star in the upcoming remake of “Lady and the Tramp.”
At first, the 2-year-old terrier mix was in the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley in Las Cruces, New Mexico. But, then, he was rescued by HALO Animal Rescue, in Phoenix, AZ.

It was then, when Hollywood animal trainers arrived at the shelter in search of rescue dogs for the movie.
Monte called the attention of the trainers to be the main role because he was super friendly, loved to greet people and receive them with kisses. Also, he was a pretty polite dog, since he knew how to sit and walk well on a leash.

Trainers adopted Monte and apart from his movie appearances, he leads a normal and happy life.
While the Lady will be a beautiful Cocker Spaniel named Rose.
The new live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp will premiere on November 12 on the new Disney streaming service.
Of course the movie will be voiced by human celebrities…

Monte’s “voice” will be that of actor Justin Theroux.

Tessa Thompson will lend her voice to play Lady.
A very important fact is that Disney will seek forever homes for all the rescue dogs that will participate in the film once they finish production.
